Flower Child

Maybe it's the 90's kid in me, but I'm a sucker for sunflowers. So when Abby contacted me about a collaboration and asked me to choose from all of her amazing prints, I ideally gravitated towards this one.

She had it printed on the nicest weight knit fabric for me, and I whipped it up into this easy, pull-on, no fuss dress. It's another Eucalypt tank dress that i simply blocked off at the bottom with some solid black for contrast. And, voila. A simple piece that will get me through both summer and fall!

Don't forget to check out all of Abby's work. You can get them printed on all sorts of things!

Happy July!

I'm slowly but surely tackling all the sewing projects that I prepped while I was pregnant. First up - this tie waist Axel skirt! I fell in love with this pattern when my friend Megan released it, so it shot right to the top of my to-do list. And I'm kind of obsessed with this floral scuba knit fabric that I chose, even though it kind of camouflages the tie detail of the skirt in photos. It looks so much better in real life!

LONG LIVE SUMMER

How is it September already?! And already almost Labor Day?1 Geesh. I don't know about you, but I'm actually not ready for all the fall things. At all. I'm team summer, all the way. So I'm gonna keep on wearing my white and my sandals and slip on my swimsuit to head to the beach this weekend.

About the dress - this white scuba knit was one of my prized finds from my NYC fabric shopping trip. It's a shame you can't see the embossed detail in the full length shots. It's ridiculously pretty. Do you follow me on Instagram? I posted a before shot of my sketch and a close up of the fabrics!

HANDMADE WARDROBE // FLAMINGO LINGO

If you've been around here awhile, you maaaaaay recognize this fabric from a dress I made years ago. Sadly, that dress didn't survive very long. There was an unfortunate incident with the washing machine. And it was oh so sad.

Luckily I've had some extra yardage hanging around, and I finally got around to putting it to use. It only took, you know, 3 years.
