I'm an Irish Baby

March 17th, 2011

Yeah, I’m Irish. I mean, my last name Keenan. But I don’t think I’m a very good Irishman. I don’t drink, for starters. And thats like pretty much all the Irish do, right? Plus, I don’t think I look very Irish. I can thank the Lebanese in me for my few dark features (p.s- dark hair + dark eyes + dark glasses + very sunny day = a big dark blob of a face in photos). Aaaaand I don’t own very many green items. The few I do, I just wasn’t feeling ‘em today. So I went for the accessories. The bow necklace is, of course, made by me (hey! visit my shop!). And my faithful little Prada purse rounded it out for about as much green as I could get out of me for today.

Fun little side note - that cardigan I’m wearing belonged to my grandma. She and my grandpa were the cutest little (and by little, I mean little. Like, leprechaun little) Irish couple I’d ever seen. Just sayin’.

I Really Love Giraffes

March 15th, 2011

I’ve been kind of off the radar for about the last week. I’ve had the worst cold for what feels like forever. But today I woke up feeling pretty good, and thought today would be the day that I get back outside and take some outfit photos. I, apparently, spoke too soon. As soon as I got outside, the runny nose, watery eyes, coughing - all came flooding back. Oh well, I gave it a shot. Thats why theres not that many photos. Most of them consisted of  ”I am about to sneeze” or “hurry up and snap before my eyes start to water again” faces.

And this outfit contains a lot less color and a lot more black than I usually choose to wear. But for some reason it felt  appropriate for today. I have some sort of obsession with giraffes. They make me feel better. Speaking of feel better giraffes, I got the best present from Boo the other day - a 6 foot tall giraffe statue. And I thought he was going to bring me a candy bar.

Oh, and these shoes? I had won them during the 30 for 30 in a giveaway by Louise at Coffee and a Cardigan. Adorable, right?!

I'm a Hipster, Baby

Worn on March 6th, 2011

Ugh, you guys, I feel like poo. I caught a cold. And I’m such a baby, so its really killing me. I haven’t left the house in a few days, so I haven’t put on real clothes, which means I haven’t taken any outfit photos recently. Thank goodness I had these photos from this last weekend. My friend, Allison was staying with us for the weekend, and on Sunday we went to the aquarium, went to dinner in the North End, and picked up some cannolis at Mike’s Pastry. Lovely day, if I do say so myself.

And as you can see, I jumped on the bandwagon with the big framed glasses. What can I say, I guess I’m a hipster now. No really, I really love them, as everyone else does. They’re fake though. I really do wear glasses, so I hope to get some prescription ones soon.

P.S - thank you Allison for taking my outfit photos this last weekend! Isn’t she adorable? And look at her rocking one of my bow necklaces.

Wedding Wednesday

Ok, so last week I was trying to decide if I wanted to try out a few new features other than just posting outfit shoots. I finally settled on Etsy Favorites Friday….. and Wedding Wednesdays. I’ll try it out for awhile and see how it goes.

As you may know, I recently got engaged. Even though we don’t plan on having the wedding until summer 2012, I’ve definitely already gotten addicted to l ideas looking at wedding online. Something that will come first before a lot of the other planning, and something I could look at for hours, is engagement photoshoots. I’ve seen so many fun ones, I can’t wait to have some taken this summer! Some of my favorites I’ve seen? …..

EBEW: Polka Dots (and Leopard)

March 8th, 2011

blouse: thrifted, cardigan: Victoria’s Secret, skirt: handmade by me!, tights: Target, shoes: c/o Big Buddha

ebew polka dots: Who says you can’t wear polka dots and leopard print together? Not me, thats for sure. When I found out the next EBEW was polka dots, I knew it would be perfect projects for the two different polka dot fabrics I had bought. Problem is, I never got around to making the blouse, just the skirt. But thats ok - I love leopard and polka dots together too! I’m craaaaaaaazy like that, ya know.

Oh, and the shoes? they are the black versions of these oxfords sent to my by the wonderful people at Big Buddha. Love love love.

Big Buddha

Worn on March 4th, 2011

cardigan: JCrew, tank: Forever 21, shorts: vintage, Tights: Anthropologie, shoes: c/o Big Buddha Shoes

So the 30 for 30 is over, and in today’s post I am featuring these adorable oxfords sent over to me by the lovely people at Big Buddha. I love them! They are quite adorable, and pretty comfy. I wore them to pick up my friend from the airport, then galavant around town with her before dinner. A lovely day, I must say. Also, I must say that I adore these shorts. They are incredibly high waisted - I lovingly refer to them as my Urkel shorts now. But I Iove them. I think they were a great vintage fine. Very warm- 100% wool, and cute! Right?

Up Next? Shopping! And an outfit featuring the black versions of these shoes. Stay tuned.
