Repeat Offender : Leopard and Red

double

worn on November 4th, 2011

Ok, so heres the thing. The other day I was trying to figure out what to wear, and I started to go through some of my usual inspiration that I saved to pinterest. I still wasn’t feeling anything, so I turned to my archive of my own past outfits. It got me thinking - theres some past outfits in there that I really loved, so why have I only worn them once? I’m not going to pretend that I never where the same outfit twice. Because I deeeefinitely do, and I’m sure your do too. But as style bloggers, we rarely blog about it. Sure, we wanna keep it new and interesting. But I’m over it. If it worked once, it will work twice.

So from now on, if I find myself not knowing what to wear, I am going to use myself as inspiration. I’m starting a new little series here - Repeat Offender. If it works, I’m going to blog about it….. again

So here it is - my first repeat. I first wore this outfit back in April. And I chose it as my first for this series, because I actually wear this combo all the time. Its a go-to for me. The red and leopard are classic, and you can never go wrong with that combination.

So this is another weekend outfit. On sunday, Boo and I went out for brunch… and then spent the rest of the day cuddled up in our living room fort watching DVRed shows and hockey. And taking naps. Hows that for a lazy sunday?

P.S - its EBEW day! Go check out everyone and their brightly colored legs :)

In My Life : Sabres and Other Things

Things that happened this weekend:

I had one of those days on friday where I pretty much didn’t move off of my spot on the couch. Day - photo editing, coffee, and Grey’s Anatomy reruns. Night - save the dates, sheep slippers, and the Sabres game. Same spot, just different activities.

I was in a very Sabre-y mood this weekend. At different times I sported both my 80’s bomber jacket and my customized All Stars.

It was also a build a fort in the living room type of weekend. Completed with wings and buffalo chicken wing dip while we watched yet another Sabres game.

Creepsters Be Creepin'

IMG_7433

worn on November 3rd, 2011

This outfit was created to go with my new DIY hair comb. Ta daaaaaaaaa…

IMG_7373

So, I’m used to people staring and being creepy by now. It happens a lot, and I’ve mentioned it before. I get it. A girl standing there, posing, taking her own photos - its weird. But Its more something I expect when I’m taking them in public, not when I’m right in front of my own house. I was out taking these photos, and at the house directly across the street, two women opened their door and stood in their doorway as they stared at me until I finished. Whats worse is that I was directly facing them, so I had to face the awkwardness and see them as I was trying to pose.

Come on people - just look, look confused and weirded out by the weird girl, and move on. No need to be that creepy.

DIY : Hair Combs

Have you seen this DIY floating around pinterest? I’ve had it pinned for awhile, and have been dying to make one. I finally got around to it!

IMG_7014

Its incredibly simple. All you need is:

*hair comb (you can get a whole pack of them at the drug store)

*embroidery floss

IMG_7021

And voila! All I did was wrap the floss around the teeth in a v shape. And then repeat. Its incredibly simple, and only took about 15 minutes. I loved it so much, I made a second one (in wedding colors, of course).

Come back tomorrow to see it in action.

Three Little Facts

IMG_7083

worn on November 1st, 2011

I seem to be having another one of those days with nothing to say. So instead,  today I will link up to Rebecca’s (of Rebecca with an R) 3 little facts.

Photobucket

driving: I don’t have a drivers license. I never have, actually. Driving scares the living daylights out of me, and I never made it past my learners permit. Boo seems to think that one day, when we have kids, I will have to get my license. I say - hire a driver.

high school: I never played any sports as a kid. None. I’m completely uncoordinated. I was, however, a member of Art Alive, an editor of Yearbook Committee, and secretary of my  senior class.  And I played viola in our school orchestra.

heritage: I’m part Lebanese. But mostly Irish. And also German.

Pizza, Bowling, And The First Snowfall

IMG_6827

worn on October 29th, 2011

I loved this outfit. It was so comfy and casual and chill.

Earlier in the day, Boo and I ran a few errands. Nothing exciting, really. And then in the evening, as the snow started to come down, we headed out for pizza and candlepin bowling with some of Boo’s coworkers. A splendid night, ending with a little snowball fight in the street - of course.
