I'm a Hipster, Baby

Worn on March 6th, 2011

Ugh, you guys, I feel like poo. I caught a cold. And I’m such a baby, so its really killing me. I haven’t left the house in a few days, so I haven’t put on real clothes, which means I haven’t taken any outfit photos recently. Thank goodness I had these photos from this last weekend. My friend, Allison was staying with us for the weekend, and on Sunday we went to the aquarium, went to dinner in the North End, and picked up some cannolis at Mike’s Pastry. Lovely day, if I do say so myself.

And as you can see, I jumped on the bandwagon with the big framed glasses. What can I say, I guess I’m a hipster now. No really, I really love them, as everyone else does. They’re fake though. I really do wear glasses, so I hope to get some prescription ones soon.

P.S - thank you Allison for taking my outfit photos this last weekend! Isn’t she adorable? And look at her rocking one of my bow necklaces.

Wedding Wednesday

Ok, so last week I was trying to decide if I wanted to try out a few new features other than just posting outfit shoots. I finally settled on Etsy Favorites Friday….. and Wedding Wednesdays. I’ll try it out for awhile and see how it goes.

As you may know, I recently got engaged. Even though we don’t plan on having the wedding until summer 2012, I’ve definitely already gotten addicted to l ideas looking at wedding online. Something that will come first before a lot of the other planning, and something I could look at for hours, is engagement photoshoots. I’ve seen so many fun ones, I can’t wait to have some taken this summer! Some of my favorites I’ve seen? …..

EBEW: Polka Dots (and Leopard)

March 8th, 2011

blouse: thrifted, cardigan: Victoria’s Secret, skirt: handmade by me!, tights: Target, shoes: c/o Big Buddha

ebew polka dots: Who says you can’t wear polka dots and leopard print together? Not me, thats for sure. When I found out the next EBEW was polka dots, I knew it would be perfect projects for the two different polka dot fabrics I had bought. Problem is, I never got around to making the blouse, just the skirt. But thats ok - I love leopard and polka dots together too! I’m craaaaaaaazy like that, ya know.

Oh, and the shoes? they are the black versions of these oxfords sent to my by the wonderful people at Big Buddha. Love love love.

Big Buddha

Worn on March 4th, 2011

cardigan: JCrew, tank: Forever 21, shorts: vintage, Tights: Anthropologie, shoes: c/o Big Buddha Shoes

So the 30 for 30 is over, and in today’s post I am featuring these adorable oxfords sent over to me by the lovely people at Big Buddha. I love them! They are quite adorable, and pretty comfy. I wore them to pick up my friend from the airport, then galavant around town with her before dinner. A lovely day, I must say. Also, I must say that I adore these shorts. They are incredibly high waisted - I lovingly refer to them as my Urkel shorts now. But I Iove them. I think they were a great vintage fine. Very warm- 100% wool, and cute! Right?

Up Next? Shopping! And an outfit featuring the black versions of these shoes. Stay tuned.

Day 30 - Today Is a Good Day

Worn on March 3rd, 2011

shirt: Gap via Buffalo Exchange, tee: Urban Outfitters, skirt: DVF (sample sale), tights: ?, boots: Vince Camuto

30 for 30 remix- day 30: Yaaaaaaaay! Its done! Over! Helllllooooo closet :) I’m pretty happy to be done with this, can you tell? Aaaand I get to pick up my friend from the airport today. Just in time for a shopping filled weekend. Today is a good day.

And for the recap:

Overall I feel like had more fun with outfits than the last time around. I only had a couple days in there where I really hated the outfits, other than that I was pretty pleased with what I was able to come up with.  A couple things:

-Accessories can be a life saver. Scarves, hair thingys - can totally bring an outfit around.

-Its best to think outside the box when it comes to a certain garment. Lets sau, my chartreuse dress. It can be worn as is, with a sweater over top, underneath another skirt, and even completely covered up so only a little detail shows. I know look at everything in my closet a completely different way.

-I love color. and prints.  No surprise there.

-Based on a lot of these pictures, especially the first row of the first set, I have a leaning to the right problem. Fo realz.

Day 29 - Twenty Nine (because I don't have a good title)

Worn on February 2nd, 2011

tee: Delias, cardigan and tights: Anthropologie, skirt: American Apparel, boots: Forever21

30 for 30 remix- day 29: Oh man, these poor little boots. After I got back from taking these photos, half of the heel came right off! Maybe some superglue will help? I hope so, I love these boots.

After doing some thinking yesterday, I think I’m gonna try out some small weekly things for now. Like Wedding Wednesday- I haven’t fully figured out what, but it will be wedding related. I hope you all don’t mind. I promise I won’t get crazy with it. And I was also thinking Etsy Favorites Friday. I really want to bring in more Etsy related material, seeing as half the reason I started this blog was to coincide with my Etsy shop. And then of course I will have my usual outfit posts, shop updates and hopefully more ReStyles in between. Yay? Nay?

P.S - ONE MORE DAY. eeee!

Day 28 - Thinking Time

Worn on MArch 1st, 2011

sweater: Express, skirt, belt, and socks: Anthropologie

30 for 30 remix- day 28: Whoops, I forgot to put on shoes for these photos. My bad. For the record, I wore my short black boots. Cuz I know you were all wondering. Anywho…

I was thinking about maybe doing some weekly features on here. After this remix I’m getting kind of sick of just posting outfit pictures. I do post my etsy stuff here and there, but its not on a regular basis- only when I get new stuff made. So I don’t know, even if it was just a simple one photo inspiration type thing. Inspiration? Things I like? Etsy favorites? Wedding post? I have some thinking to do. What do you think?
