Swapped, Part Three

worn on May 3rd, 2011

This is the third and final item Kathryn sent me for our swap. Its actually a dress. But, as I quickly mentioned monday, I had an unfortunate lapse of judgment involving this dress and an iron. It still makes me upset to think about it, so we’ll just leave it at that.

But I’m still incredibly happy with the way this outfit came out. I mean, it makes just as adorable of a skirt as it does a dress, right? You can’t not feel awesome wearing this. Its light, colorful, springy. And its one of those skirts that makes you wanna twirl with every step.

Don’t forget to check out how Kathryn styles my items over at Kitsune-kun !

Wedding Wednesday

Ok, its no secret. I loooooove Etsy. I can already spend hours browsing through all the amazing handmade and vintage goodies. But my newest obsession is the wedding category. And I’ve become fixated on this carnival/ circus theme. So I thought I would share some favorite Etsy carnival wedding items I’ve come across:

1. Drink Me Straws by pinkcherrymama

2. Ringmaster Wedding Invitation by Must Love Pink

3. Balloon Animal Boutonniere by frittes rosenow

4. Circus Fever Poms by Prost to the Host

Swapped, Part Two

worn on May 2nd, 2011

This little number happens to be the second dress Kathryn of Kitsune-kun sent my way. So pretty, right? And I’m loving the subtle ombre effect going on. I don’t have much green in my closet, and I actually felt pretty spring-y wearing it. Like I was fitting in with all the new green grass and trees finally sprouting up everywhere. Oh! And look at that, I even have hints of florals too (my belt is floral even though you can’t see, as well as my shoes). Now if only I had a fancy little garden party to attend…. I’d fit right in!

Don’t forget tohead on over to Kitsune-kun to see how Kathryn styles my items!

Swapped, Part One

worn on April 30th, 2011

This week I will be swapping a few items with Kathryn of Kitsune-kun. First up - this adorable yellow dress! I could not wait to get my hands on this thing. When I first saw Kathryn wear it, I absolutely fell in love. Sunshine yellow! Tie dye! bows! Seriously, where can I get one of these babies?

Its a bit wrinkly. But after a horrible, horrible incident with one of the other swapped dresses ( and my worst nightmare), I didn’t dare try to iron it. Note to self: don’t ever, ever attempt to iron another persons clothing while in your possession again. It will end in disaster. ( Soooooo sorry again Kathryn :( ).

So, yeah. After my meltdown, this outfit was actually worn for mine and Boo’s 6 year anniversary on saturday. It involved a picnic lunch, seeing Water For Elephants (which I enjoyed), and a yummy steak dinner at The Palm. Mmm Mmm Mmmmmm.

Theres Zebras On My Skirt

Worn on April 21st, 2011

My posts are all sorts of crazy out of order. This is actually what I wore Thursday when we drove home. I was originally going to try and save this post (I have something pretty cool lined up soon), but I couldn’t help it.

When I spotted this skirt at Goodwill, I literally squealed. BEST.FIND.EVER. It may be hard to tell, but those are little zebras all over it. I’m a sucker for anything with safari animals on it.

skirt: thrifted

A Simple Pairing

worn on April 23rd, 2011

These shoes may not be the best paring for this dress. But I was in desperate need for some comfort. We had our engagement party earlier this day, and I wore my polka dot tights and Chanel flats with this dress. But when we got done, it was so warm out, and my feet were killing me from a very bust past few days. So I figured it would be a good time to debut my new Toms. Everyone was right - they are soooooo comfy! Exactly what my feet needed :)

dress: H&M

shoes: Toms

Photos from home.... again

So I was home again this past weekend for the second time this month. We booked our venue, had our engagement party (and I didn’t take any pictures. whoops), went to the casino for my birthday, and painted my face for the sabres game. For some reason, I’m horrible at taking outfit photos when I’m home. Even though I have all my stuff to do it. Sorry about that. I do have one more, but I haven’t gotten around to editing them yet. But, as last time, heres a few other photos from the weekend:

traveling in style / card games with the family

brother is hilarious during Sabres games / tacos for my birthday dinner!

bunny birthday cake! / scenery at home

heading into Canada for a little birthday gambling / Sass-a-frass checking out my outfit photo session

Sorry I don’t have a cute easter sunday outfit to show you. This is actually what I looked like on sunday. In our neck of the woods, a hockey playoff game trumps most everything.
