Don't They Say - Beauty Is Pain?

worn on June 7th, 2011

My bad- I had been playing around with my camera the night before, and forgot to change the ISO back for these pictures. So they are a bit grainy-er than usual. Like I said… my bad.

I got this vintage dress on etsy a while back. I’m pretty sure it was actually made for a child, because it is so tight around my ribs that there is no way it was actually made for an adult female. I have to be very selective when I wear it. I definitely don’t wear it for long periods of time, or else I start to not be able to breathe. I know, not good. But its too cute…. so I continue to wear it.

Queen Of Hearts

I wore this outfit out yesterday to look for an engagement shoot dress. Well, I did get something. Just not exactly what I was originally looking to get. Oh, you will see…. in due time :)

Stupid cheap fake glasses glare. I really should get around to ordering my Warby Parkers

Our Own Harry Potter Weekend & a DIY

worn on June 4th, 2011

I’ve done this DIY before - here - with some grey trousers. But I had seen an image of denim scalloped shorts awhile back and I’ve been dying to make them. I’ve just been waiting to find a cheap pair of wide legs to do it, because I didn’t want them to be skin tight in the thighs. I found these ones at goodwill, and they fit perfect - so I knew it was time! I love ‘em. Thy just might be my new favorite shorts :)

Its very simple and there are plenty of tutorials out there! All you need is some sort of marker or fabric pencil, scissors, and fray check. And voila! I had these babies done in about a half hour.

Boo and I had a very Harry Potter filled weekend. We watched a few of the movies, read our books, and even made Butterbeer! Delicious.

That Time It Looked Like I Peed My Pants- But I Didn't

worn on June 3rd, 2011

I wore this out friday evening for dinner date night. Boo and I went to one of our favorite restaurants in Davis Square, where Boo proceeded to spill an entire glass of water all over me. I was soaked. And I sat there feeling like I had peed my pants - not a pleasant feeling.

To 30 or not to 30

worn on June 2nd, 2011

It has been so warm here lately, that when I stepped outside yesterday in this outfit I was surprised to feel a bit of a chill. And I kind of wished I had a little sweater on. I suppose it was because of the big storm the night before (we weren’t near where the tornadoes touched down, but we got some pretty crazy thunderstorms).  But hopefully we warm back up today!

Also, Kendi announced yesterday the next 30 for 30 challenge, and I’m debating on whether or not to do this one. I love doing the challenge, but I’m not sure I’m as ready to give up the rest of my closet this time for the first half of summer. Decisions, decisions.

Sunshine, Daisies, Butter Mellow...

worn on May 31st, 2011

Sushine, daisies, butter mellow… turn this stupid fat rat yellow.

Sorry, I’ve been reading Harry Potter again. And I love Ron Weasley, but who doesn’t? Plus, it seemed appropriate with all the yellow I’m wearing. You know whats not appropriate? Making soup for dinner in this weather. It was 80 degrees out. So who would be craving french onion soup? This girl, thats who.

p.s - I did a slight update to the appearance of the blog. I was making a new header for my etsy shop, so I figured why not :)

Just a Few Photos

I don’t have a Wedding Wednesday post ready for today, so instead I’ll share a few recent instagram photos:

(L) Sally Hansen leopard nail effects. They really are as awesome as everyone says. And easy.   (R) new bows that will be added to shop today or tomorrow.

Started Harry Potter series again! A lot of our evening have been sitting on the porch with yummy drinks and our books. I realized I might not make it through the entire series in  month and a half, so I think I might skip books 2 and 3. It kills me, but if I wanna get through book 7 before the movie, it’ll have to bee done.

(L) random lamb statue in the park. He likes hugs.    (R) My sister sent us the box set of Six Feet Under. Just what we need - another tv series to get sucked into. We’ve exhausted our Friends, HIMYM, Lost, and Dexter dvds, so its about time we get hooked on another.

A few shots from Memorial Day in Minute Man National Park (L) Captain William Smith House     (R) Boo (and our picnic bag) walking the Battle Road trail.

Memorial Day Fun

worn on May 30th, 2011

Oh hey! Hope everyone had a fantastic Memorial Day weekend! We’ve been living in Boston for about 9 months now, and we’ve barely visited any of the historic sites, etc. Theres so much to see!  So Boo and I spent Memorial Day at Minute Man National Park. We walked the Battle Road trail, had a little picnic, and had some fun with photos.

Told you we had fun with photos. We probably looked like fools standing in front of a tripod jumping around and being silly as people walked by on the trail. But it was all fun. Until I saw a snake and ran screaming in the other direction. Holly fact…. my 3 biggest fears: 1. snakes 2. driving 3. talking on the phone to people I don’t know. I know, I’m a weirdo.

The One Where I Don't Look At The Camera

worn on May 28th, 2011

Apparently, The camera didn’t deserve eye contact this day. Just kidding…. I actually wasn’t feeling very well so I wasn’t so much in the mood to be taking these photos. But its all good.

I wore this little 70’s inspired outfit to go see The Hangover 2 with the Boo. And then lay on the couch the rest of the day. Speaking of that, we started watching the Six Feet Under box set that my sister sent me. Did anyone watch it? I really love Michael C. Hall, so I have high hopes!
