Grandma Shorts

IMG_6840

worn on January 26th, 2011

I refer to these shorts as my grandma shorts. Now, I’m all for a high waist. But high waisted, pleated, wool shorts might be taking it a bit far.

…At the same time I really love it. What can I say, apparently I like grandma shorts.

Wedding Wednesday

After a weekend spent at my venue, and getting a few more items checked off my wedding to-do list, I feel like all I am thinking about is wedding stuff. So I thought I would share a little update as far as where I’m going, inspiration wise!

I like color, if you can’t tell.

P.s - I’m hoping to start sharing more of my planning as I move forward. So look out for more Wedding Wednesday posts!

Cozy Skirts and Wedding Planning

worn on January 28th, 2011

Isn’t this just the perfect little winter skirt? Its like a cozy, chunky sweater in skirt form.

I wore this on saturday to attend the wedding preview / tasting event at my wedding venue. Me and my mommy ate so many yummy, yummy foods and I finally narrowed down our menu. One more thing to check off the list!

In My Life - A Weekend At Home

*I flew home by myself into snowy Buffalo for the weekend.

*I played with Kiki (and had to give Kiki a bath because of a mischievous two year old) and ate my favorite foods.

*I attended the tasting at my wedding venue on a snowy day and recieved fun gifts from my coordinator.

*And I spent time with a whole bunch of little cuties!

…………………………….

And now I’m on my way back to Boston. See you tomorrow with the outfit I wore to the tasting!

No Snow Day

worn on January 24th, 2011

And just like that, the snow is gone. Poof.

Its funny, it looks like these last two outfit posts were taken in two different locations. One day its snowing, and the next day the snow is gone and its close to 50 degrees. Are we sure this is New England in January?

DIY Ring Charm Bracelet

IMG_6229

Did you guys happen to see that one bracelet on Jewelmint? You know, this one:

When I saw it, I immediately thought it was very cool idea. And I also thought it would be a perfect DIY. I have so many dainty little rings in my jewelry box, that while they still mean a lot to me, I don’t really wear anymore. So I thought it would be perfect to recycle them into a brand new piece of jewelry!

IMG_6222

what you need:

- assorted old rings

-extra charms

-assorted size jump rings

-toggle clasp

-jewelry pliers

IMG_6237

A step by step guide really isn’t needed for this one. Simply attach the rings and charms together with the jump rings until you have the look and length you are going for. Be as uniform or random as you want. Another good idea is to mix metals. If I would’ve had other jump rings than silver, I definitely would have used them.

Snow Day

worn on January 21st, 2011

Its almost the end of January, and we finally got some snow!

I’ve actually spent the last days sick. Stuffy nose, watery eyes, sore throat - the works. So the last thing I really need to be doing is standing out in the cold taking outfit photos (sorry mom!). But at least I’m bundled up, right?
