what you’ll need:

- cardigan

- suede, leather, or whatever fabric you want to use

-marker

-embroidery thread

-heart pattern

1. Put your cardigan on and bend your elbow. With the marker, mark the middle of your elbows where you want the patches to go. Just mark a small dot or x.

2. Using your heart pattern, trace your heart onto to wrong side of your suede and cut them out.

3. Pin the heart patches over your elbow marks.

3. Using your embroidery thread, stitch your hearts in place! I chose to stick with a basic running stitch, but you could do whatever fancy stitch you may like.

Always Girly

IMG_7324 copy copy

Some days I gravitate towards black jeans, leather boots, and bold silver jewelry, and then other days I feel like dressing as girly as possible. What can I say, I guess I’ll never grow out of my bows, ruffles, and florals.

HANA Titanium

I have relatively straight hair. But after I shower, Sometimes I don’t comb it and let it air dry. So I end up with the frizzy, slightly wavy kind of straight. Which is fine some days. But most days, what I really want is that sleek, pin straight kind of straight :) So I reach for the straightener.

When the people at www.misikko.com contacted me and asked me if I would like to try their HANA Titanium 1.5” Flat Iron, I couldn’t pass it up. Misikko is a site that specializes in salon grade flat irons, curling irons, and CHI hair dryers. So when I received my package ( filled with a whole bunch of really good stuff! they do a great job ), I was pretty excited.

And it didn’t let me down. It heated up nicely, the temperature adjusted perfect, my hair didn’t snag, and I was done straightening in only a few minutes. It worked perfectly, and fast, and I would definitely recommend it.

The only down fall is that they are very pricey. But if you are able to invest in these tools, it would definitely be worth it. They will last you a long time - the quality is awesome.

Ketchup and Mustard

Some days I just need an oversized sweater and jeans.

And some days I feel the need to dress like America’s favorite condiments.

This was one of both of those days.

Anyone hungry for a hot dog now?

Grandma Shorts

worn on January 26th, 2011

I refer to these shorts as my grandma shorts. Now, I’m all for a high waist. But high waisted, pleated, wool shorts might be taking it a bit far.

…At the same time I really love it. What can I say, apparently I like grandma shorts.

Wedding Wednesday

After a weekend spent at my venue, and getting a few more items checked off my wedding to-do list, I feel like all I am thinking about is wedding stuff. So I thought I would share a little update as far as where I’m going, inspiration wise!

I like color, if you can’t tell.

P.s - I’m hoping to start sharing more of my planning as I move forward. So look out for more Wedding Wednesday posts!

Cozy Skirts and Wedding Planning

Isn’t this just the perfect little winter skirt? Its like a cozy, chunky sweater in skirt form.

I wore this on saturday to attend the wedding preview / tasting event at my wedding venue. Me and my mommy ate so many yummy, yummy foods and I finally narrowed down our menu. One more thing to check off the list!

In My Life - A Weekend At Home

*I flew home by myself into snowy Buffalo for the weekend.

*I played with Kiki (and had to give Kiki a bath because of a mischievous two year old) and ate my favorite foods.

*I attended the tasting at my wedding venue on a snowy day and recieved fun gifts from my coordinator.

*And I spent time with a whole bunch of little cuties!

…………………………….

And now I’m on my way back to Boston. See you tomorrow with the outfit I wore to the tasting!

No Snow Day

worn on January 24th, 2011

And just like that, the snow is gone. Poof.

Its funny, it looks like these last two outfit posts were taken in two different locations. One day its snowing, and the next day the snow is gone and its close to 50 degrees. Are we sure this is New England in January?
