Boo's Closet

IMG_1637

I stole this shirt from Boo’s side of the closet. It just seemed way more comfy than anything on my side. It was just that kind of day.

On that note - happy friday! I’m off to Buffalo for the long weekend, which includes my bridal shower!  What are your plans for the holiday?

Shop My Closet with Shoplocket

image c/o ShopLocket

.

You guys, I’ve found a brilliant new way for you all to shop my closet.

Last week, the wonderful and adorable Alana introduced me to this new site called ShopLocket. ShopLocket makes it easy to sell any item you want, wherever you want. After you complete your listing, you simply use the code to embed it in your blog post, Facebook page, etc. How cool is that?! No need for a separate website and shop window, I can now sell items from closet right here!

(You can also see what other people are selling on ShopLocket’s Pinterest page)

Even better? ShopLocket is running a pretty cool giveaway right now. To enter to win $100 credit to ShopLocket, simply send a tweet to @ShopLocket using #ShopMyBlog saying what you would like to buy or sell using their site.

That’s it!

You have until 6/1 to enter, and the winner will be announced on the @ShopLocket twitter page.

Here’s a few items that I’m starting out with….

I also have a few other ideas of how I can use ShopLocket, other than a shop my closet. Liiiiiike, maybe a few exclusive ShopHollyDolly items, sold only here on the blog? Perhaps. I guess you’ll have to stay tuned and find out :)

Pot Luck

IMG_1066

This past weekend was gorgeous, yet again. On Saturday, Boo and I attended the yearly pot luck get together held at his boss’s mansion house. Boo and I won two games of cornhole, and I ate so much yummy goodness that I had to loosen my belt at one point. Is that inappropriate at a work party? Probs. But seriously, I really couldn’t stop eating.

Summer Wishlist

A few things I’m coveting for the upcoming summer months.

.

clockwise from top left:

.

-Hats. Floppy, fedora, cloche, or this porkie pie version- I’ve discovered my love for hats this season.

- Anything and everything flamingo

- A denim jacketis perfect for throwing on for the cooler summer evenings.

- I’m absolutely loving easy, throw and don’t think about it, tank and t-shirt dresses. This hot pink one from Madewell is exactly what I’m talking about!

-I really wanna try these Clinique Chubby Sticks. Really, I think it’s just because of the name.

-A cute pair of flat sandals. In polka dot, of course.

-Anything and everything arrows

-You all know that my Warby Parker glasses are pretty much permanently attached to my face, so I’m reeeeally coveting a pair of their new prescription sunglasses!

What are you lusting after for this summer?

Black & White

You guys, I bought another polka dot top.

I definitely have a problem. An addiction. I literally can’t help myself. Does anyone know if there is a support group out there for people like me? PDAA? That’s ‘polka dot addicts anonymous’, for those of you wondering.

Fiesta Swap

IMG_0319

On Wednesday evening, I attended The Swapaholics Fiesta Swap held at 40 Berkeley. There were pretty clothes, beergaritas and burritos, and photo booth fun. Overall, another successful swap :)

If you are in Boston, did you know that there are monthly swaps being held at 40 Berkely this year? The next one is June 20th, and it is cocktail/wedding themed! How perfect!

Tough and Girly

hd_shi2

I’ve been wanting a faux leather jacket for a while now. But I worried about how it would actually fit in with my style and wardrobe, so I was a little resistant about putting up the money for one. So when Sheinside contacted me about reviewing a product from their site, I knew it was now or never to give the leather jacket thing a shot.

And you know what? I kind of love it. I tried to keep the rest of the outfit kind of soft and girly to compensate for the… toughness of the jacket. Tough biker chick isn’t really my style.

I don’t think.

But I do think I can easily work it into my wardrobe, and that it may easily become a staple.

P.S- I also thrifted a leather pencil skirt recently. I may need a little more time before I give  that one a real try, though. Baby steps, people.

Firsts of the Season, And Thirds of Other Things.

IMG_9017

The weather this weekend was absolutely perfect. Perfect weather for firsts of the season. It started with our first summer bbq with friends. Mmmmmmm, burgers and margaritas.  And then on Sunday, we spent our first official afternoon on the porch with a couple of cold bottles of Coke and our books.

And then we went and saw The Hunger Games.

For the third time.

Because there is nothing like finishing off a warm day with a cool theater, an iced coffee, and a really, really good movie.

Challenge Accepted

IMG_8891

The last time I wore this skirt, I rocked it with a backwards cardi and pastels. Someone had commented that they loved that styling so much, they couldn’t imagine how else I could wear the skirt. So, in the words of Barney Stinson - challenge accepted

To be honest- at first, I agreed. I did have a hard time styling this skirt, and I was pretty impressed with myself for that particular combination, so I was a little at a loss as to which direction to go next. But then I somehow put this combo together. And I thought it was pretty awesome. True story. (ok, I’ll stop with the Barney quotes now).
