Without trying to sound like a broken record, I really do love the beach during fall. Almost even more so than during the summer. This trip, Boo and I explored a completely different section of our usual beach. A spot we’ve never been to.  It’s nearly impossible to get to during the summer, because there are, like, 10 parking spots total. You have to get there practically at sunrise to get a spot :/. But this time of year? no problem.

I absolutely loved this section. It had a much more secluded feel. And in addition to a nice stretch of open beach, it had this fantastic rocky area that we spent almost all of our time exploring. Boo loved all of the little snails clinging to the rocks, and I was fascinated with the amount of different patterns in the sand I found.

Another perfect beach day.

p.s - Thank you all for your condolences about my grandpa. It’s been a really strange week, for sure. But you all are too sweet :).

Happy Halloween

halloween1

Happy halloween, my friends.

We were pretty original with our costumes this year. A lot of effort went into these, as you can see :). But really, after all the work that was put into last years costumes, we decided to keep it pretty low key this year.

And besides, I don’t think Henry really understands the idea behind Halloween. He wasn’t a fan of the mummy costume we tried putting him in, so he decided to go as a strikingly beautiful, well-behaved black cat instead.

on a side note - this halloween has turned into an actual nightmare, as my grandpa passed away yesterday morning. It was quite a shock, and everything is kind of turned up side down right now. I had today’s (I still couldn’t help but share) and tomorrow’s posts scheduled already, but things may be a bit quieter around here next week. Thank you for understanding.

In My Life

insta69201

» I had the honor of being a part of A Clover and A Bee’s new feature - “These Hands”. Head on over to check out my post!

» What I’m watching : Holy crap have I become addicted to HGTV. No really. Like, serious addiction. I don’t watch anything else anymore. I don’t even look at any other channels. And I don’t know how it has taken me sooo long to discover it.

» What I’m listening to : JT… all.the.time.

»What I’m reading : Allegiant. The 3rd and final book in the Divergent series. I’m actually just finishing up re-reading the second book, and I’m so excited to dive into it!

»What I’m eating : A lot of soup. Boo makes a killer homemade tomato soup.

» Cold weather is on my brain. I want this coat, these socks, and this cardigan

» Speaking of cold weather again, How ridiculously cozy do the new items in Lyndsay’s shop, The Seam Designs, look?! I received a couple things in the mail from her the other day (picture above!) and they’re going to be perfect for winter.

» I won’t have a shopHollyDolly update for this upcoming week. That’s my bad. I’m a procrastinator, and I procrastinated too long this time (I blame the recent HGTV addiction). Whoops. But I’ll have some more coming your way in a couple of weeks! Meanwhile, check out everything that has been added up to this point here

Shop Update - no. 4

shopupdate4

This week’s shop update features new takes on old items. Bows and tassels - can you tell I love them?!

Bow In A Row - This is a fun little play on my signature bow necklace. Still made out of leather, I’ve shrunk the bows down to itty bitty miniature size. 5 of these mini bows dangle from small gold chain. Too cute.

Fringe - Switching it up from my usual leather tassels, Fringe necklaces are made from colored floss. These ones are trio tassels, and I’ve tried to keep them in cool ombre color palletes. But I’ll have single Fringe necklaces soon, too!

Stay tuned for more shop updates to come!

P.S - don’t forget that you can access the shop straight from the blog here at any time! Either click on the widget over on the left sidebar, or go through the shop page from the left banner menu.
