Oh man, you guys. Do I have a crap ton of photos from our road trip (official amount - crap ton). Hopefully I don’t bore you, but you’re going to be seeing a lot of them over the next couple of weeks. You’ve been warned.
So, we started out with the first day driving from Vegas to the Grand Canyon, stopping along Route 66 on the way. I loved Route 66. So cute. I was running all over the place, discovering all sorts of cutesy little spots. We actually stopped in both Saligman and Williams. And didn’t leave until we got some BBQ, of course. By the time we got to the Grand Canyon, we spent the whole second half of the day driving the scenic route, stopping at all of the look-out points. I swear, no camera can actually capture the real beauty of that place. No pictures do it justice. If you have never been, it should definitely be on your bucket list!
P.S - because I know someone will ask, my overalls are thrifted Levi’s.

» Oh hey, surprise road trip! I didn’t mention it before, but if you follow me on Instagram than you know that for the last week and a half Boo and I had been on an all-American road trip across the midwest! I have a crap ton of pictures, so expect a whole couple of weeks full of trip-related posts.

Happy first day of spring!!! As I mentioned yesterday, I could not be happier that we are one step closer to warmer weather. Winter is just not my season. At all. I absolutely hate winter dressing, actually. But as I squeal in excitement that I get to start dressing for spring soon, I also wanted to look back and realize I did have a handful of winter outfits that I didn’t hate.

—————————————————————— 7 - 8 - 9 - 10 - 11 - 12 ——————————————————————

Looking at this picture, I’m realizing I never pressed the hem of the skirt after I finished making it. Doh. I guess I was just anxious to be done with it, and all winter clothing for that matter.
Speaking of which, I’m really really really hoping this will be the last I’ll see of my winter wardrobe. Tomorrow is the first day of spring (yay!), and I’m not going to have any normal blog outfit posts for the next week or two (more on that later). So heres to hoping that by the time I get back into routine, I’ll be dressing for spring and there will be hints of green around me outside. Isn’t all the brown, dead trees and grass depressing?
Fingers crossed.

Last week, Sweet Cupcakes hosted a small group of Boston Bloggers at their Newbury St. location for a little get together. It involved tasting a bunch of delicious cupcakes, coffee, and hearing all about how Sweet got started. All in an adorable little storefront decorated in a pretty soft pink and white. Seriously, it was like eating cupcakes inside of a cupcake. But anyway, I loved hearing that each day’s batch of cupcakes are made fresh that morning. You won’t get any stale cupcakes here! (Don’t worry, any left overs are donated). But that’s not even the best part. You guys, they deliver. If you live in Boston or Cambridge, you can get cupcakes delivered right to your door. Even same day. I think I’m in love.
We got to taste their Guinness flavor cupcake, for St. Patrick’s Day, of course. But I actually looooved their carrot cake flavor. And I usually don’t even like carrot cake. Seriously, you should try it. Next time, I must try the bananas foster!
Thanks to Sweet, and to Allison and Kate for hosting such a fun little event!

I whipped up yet another 20 minute knit skirt the other day, this one just in time for St. Paddy’s day! I mean, I’d feel like a bad little Irish girl if I didn’t sport a little green.
P.S - that cute little shamrock came from Sweet Cupcakes. More on that tomorrow!

» Oh my goodness. If you need a quick laugh, these pups have you covered.
» Weather update: spring is officially never coming. It snowed again yesterday. And I cried.
» Have you met the new sheriff in town? That last picture up there of Henry cracks me up. He hates his new Woody shirt. But it’s adorable. So he’ll have to deal with it.
» A few Etsy treasuries featuring shopHollyDolly: Think Spring, Breakfast At Tiffany’s, Purple, Spring #26
» I haven’t mentioned it in my outfit posts this week, but I gots my hairs cut. I swear I go shorter and shorter each time. But I really like it at this length!
» This top is everything. $178?!?! Whhhhhhhy.

I have a small washi tape obsession. And a big jar full of tape rolls to prove it.
Not only do I use it a lot in packaging and gift wrapping, but I’ve fallen in love with using it throughout our apartment. Seriously, it makes for the best makeover for just about anything! I originally showed you in our bedroom tour how it instantly transformed our old and tired white dresser with some bold black stripes. But I thought I would share with you today a few other spots I’ve used it throughout my sewing room.
One of the very fist things I did in my sewing room when we moved in a year and a half ago was block out an “inspiration board” with my orange tape. I loved the alternative to hanging something like a cork board. And then I use the tape as well to hang everything within my board. No crazy holes in wall! Yay!
I also added some random, alternating stripes to the door, and outlined the outer edge of my white sewing table for a pop of color (not pictured). And the best part about these makeovers? If I decide I don’t like it anymore, I can just peel the tape off without any damage to the walls or furniture. No commitment required :)
